It's hoped "postponement" is a euphemism, but for now "Proceedural difficulties" have killed the Uptown Gallery and Obi Kaufmann's show. It's too bad, it would've been good. Art ain't easy.
The artist was certainly prepared, had a complete show framed and ready to hang, publicity out and invitations mailed... and six months of Bay Area artists lined up to follow.
Club management unfortunatly divided for personal and aesthetic reasons clear to no one including themselves and two respective sets of lawyers advised against the exhibition; and so the announcement on the Uptown website was pulled.

Well, that was quick. What went wrong? Did the artist fail to produce the work? Or was there a disagreement on terms?
That is disappointing. It would have been a cool addition to the club.
