Reconstructing palaces

The Alhambra, 2008, acrylic on canvas, 12x10 inches.
EVR photo: Sony cybershot dsc h50.

In my studio of big dreams The Scribe holds his broken arm and a palm-frond crucifix across his knees. He sits on the computer tower along with one speaker, the African statue and the porcelain angel, and he looks, as much as rough clay can, out across the lawn, beyond my reconstructed Alhambra on the screen, to a fat bee humming Granada in the flowering chamomille: dangerous enchantment to the watching dog.
